Synopsis: The River in Me is a beautiful music documentary portraying the musical adventures and life struggles of five artists in rural northwest China: A folk rock performer, Su Yang, who wants to sing old rural ballads into the hearts of modern people; a storyteller who still wants to find someone in his sixties; a "flower(a folk song created and shared by Han, Hui, Tibetan, Dongxiang, Baoan, Sarah, Tu, Yugu and Mongolian nationalities in Gansu, Qinghai and Ningxia provinces in Northwest China.)" singer who enjoys singing love songs but is always teased by his fellow villagers; a Qin opera troupe leader who worries about finding actors; and a shadow play group leader who laments "shadow play is coming to an end" all day long... They compose music with soil and write words about fate. Life is played in a loop, but who says it can't be an exciting rock and roll? Music goes on and life goes on as well.
